Windows 7 canât access Windows 2000 share
Hi,
According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshooting the issue:
1
Disable “Password Protected sharing” on Windows 7 computer:
1)
Open Network and Sharing Center.
2)
Click “Change Advanced sharing settings”.
3)
Select “Turn off password protected sharing” under “Turn off password protected sharing”.
2 Change the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa LmCompatibilityLevel
to 1, then restart
If the issue persists, you can try the suggestion mentioned in:

“Check win7 and win2000 time and zone setting”
Hope that helps.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I didn’t find the option “Turn off password protected sharing”
in my advanced sharing settings, maybe because the pc is inside a domain?
The key on the windows registry was already set as suggested. No lucky, it
still doesn’t work…
I also checked as suggested time and zone setting: in the windows 2000 server
is set the zone GMT + 1.00, in the Windows 7 pc is set UTC + 1.00.
I have no idea what try to do… is there any way to debug the connection?
Can I see the operation step by step? I really don’t have any idea of what to do…
Thanks for your help, best regards

Good morning, I have a big problem: I bought for my company 4 brand new pc with Windows 7 Professional installed. I added my pc’s
to my domain but I can’t access to the share on the windows 2000 server. When I try to connect to the server appears a message that ask for my credential. I can’t access also if I insert my credential. I tried to google a little bit for a solution
and everywhere I found that I have to change the Lan Manager authentication level but it still doesn’t work… does anyone have an idea? How can I fix the problem? I have access on windows 2003 share without any problem… Thank you for your
help, best regards
